A pigeon that is unable to fly and a Chihuahua that is unable to walk develop a connection that demonstrates that differences do not prevent companionship.

The animal realm and the improbable bonds that develop between various species never cease to astound us. Dogs are generally open to forming relationships with other animals and are eager to become the best of friends with anyone who is in need of their love because of their compassionate and loving nature.

Herman and Lundy have one of the cutest relationships we have ever seen. As a chihuahua puppy, Lundy is unable to walk and is dependent on human care to get him through each day. Herman, his new best friend, is an incapable pigeon.

These two cute animals are inseparable despite their impairments. They got to know each other via the Mia Foundation, a New York-based rescue group that helps animals with physical impairments and birth deformities get back on their feet.

Herman was saved from a New York auto dealership’s vehicle park when employees saw that he had been sitting there for three days, as if he was ready to pass away. It comes out that he is unable to fly due to a neurological problem.

Sue Rogers of the Mia Foundation disagreed with Herman’s rescuers’ decision to put him to death. In addition to taking charge of Herman’s rescue, she promised to take care of the pigeon herself.

In contrast, Lundy is a puppy chihuahua who is unable to use his hind legs. Due to injury to his spinal cord, he has a handicap known as “swimmers syndrome,” which he must live with. Sue saw that Herman went straight over to Lundy, who instantly warmed up to him, after she urged him to get out of his crib for exercise, even though they had not been together before.

In an interview with WHEC TV, sue said:

“To give Herman some alone time, I took him out of his playpen and placed him in a dog bed. I put Lundy with him then since I had to tend to him. I snapped some photos of them together since I thought they were adorable. I then shared them on Facebook. The following morning was chaotic.

She was correct when she indicated that chaos ensued. Sue posted some pictures on Facebook, and those pictures raised an amazing $6,000 in donations. It is hoped that the images have contributed to increasing awareness of the amazing job that the Mia Foundation performs to assist animals with disabilities.

Despite their shared struggles, Herman and Lundy have established a love bond that demonstrates the depth of understanding that can exist across many animal species.

Most significantly, though, their bond demonstrates the significance of the Mia Foundation’s mission, and we should all be appreciative and proud of their commitment to giving animals a second shot at life.

Guys, keep up the fantastic work!
